DAY 5 IN PRAGUE

Dernière mise à jour : 25 avr. 2019

It’s the last day but not the least one. We are all sad at the idea of leaving. At the beginning I didn’t know everyone but I met knew people who became my friends, with whom I spent my entire trip. Even if I’m sad because of leaving, there is something I will not miss : Czech’s food ! Indeed, it didn’t have any taste or there is too much garlic… Lucky me, I’m going to find the French’s food again ! Actually, there is something else that really displeased me : the Prague people. They are rude and not friendly, when you go shopping no "hello" no "thank you" and of course no "goodbye"... Furthermore, you can die at every moment because of a car : when you cross the street on pedestrian crossing, they don't want to let you go. They are really dangerous drivers.

This morning we are visiting the Communism Museum, it’s really important because Czechoslovakia was under a communism regim after WW II until not long ago. The museum is really interesting, I'm learning a lot of things about Czechoslovakia's history.

After the museum and because we are all starving, we are going to the restaurant. It's the same one as the first day, so we are a little bit affraid of what we are going to eat.... Fortunately, we are eating lasagna !

Thanks to a last good meal, we can resume our journey. We walk in the entire city, we see very beautiful buildings of many styles (baroque, contemporary...) and we enjoy the sun... I like all this buildings because I want to be an architect, so it's a great experience to develop my knowledge. Suddenly, we make a stop at a church : it's the church where Gabcik and Kubis hid themselves after the assassination of Heydrich. I knew a little bit of the Anthropoid operation but thanks to the visit I can learn a lot about the way it ended, the reason & the purpose of this extremely risky operation, who they were ... It's quite interesting and moving. We continue to walk in order to discover new places in Prague, we see many colored houses. It's really nice with the sun we did not have until now ! We make another stop in front of the dancing house, it's a "twisted" house really original ! All this monuments are in the Novè Město district. We continue our walk until the Malá Strana district : there is an impressive monument at the foot of the Petříň hill. This monument is a tribute to the victims of communism, where seven more or less erased bodies come down the steps. I'm quite shocked when a married couple come here in order to take their wedding photos. I would never dream and think of taking my pictures in front a memorial, that seemss crazy ! Anyway, that's when Liba, our guide, leaves us. We take a picture and we thank her a lot for having guided us during the trip.

Then saying goodbye, we go back into the center for free time. We spend the rest of the day shopping and enjoying the last moments in Prague... When the free time is over, we go back to the bus and say goodbye to the town. 15 hours of road are waiting for us !
